The client is a leader in the production of Italian olive oil that had recently started a process of integration of its production system into SAP.

THE PRE-PROJECT SITUATION

Important activities related to production and quality control were assigned to a field system. With this system it was impossible to have complete data integration with SAP’s management system in use by the company.

The client's need was to add to its production flow some functionalities necessary for a complete integration between SAP and the production lines, among which:

• traceability management for primary packaging (in direct contact with olive oil) via radio terminal
• homogeneous batch management according to UNI ISO 2859/1
• line speed
• quality control on finished products in line
• control dashboard for production lines

THE SOLUTION

We implemented ad hoc interfaces between SAP and the client’s machinery, in order to allow the exchange of data necessary to support all production activities.

We created dashboards to monitor production activities and allow interaction for: traceability management, homogeneous batch management, stops management.

TECHNOLOGY

We employed web services to create the interfaces between SAP and the client’s machinery.

We created the dashboards with ABAP.
