THE KEY ROLE OF WAREHOUSE

Companies with physical products for sale see in the shipping warehouse a crucial department for their business : it must run to perfection since it is the litmus test to evaluate the efficiency of the entire company.

A tool able to analyze the performance of the shipping warehouse and the state of shipments in real time, integrated with the company’s ERP/IT system, is therefore a must.


THE SYSTEM

The Shipping Monitor is a dashboard which monitors shipping activities in corporate warehouse in real time.

The application allows to control shipments (stock, parcels or values) and their number in real time in different preparation status the way they are identified by the ERP/IT system (e.g. “To be confirmed”, “Confirmed”, “Packed”, “Invoiced”, “Shipped”).


THE VIEWS

The acquired data are displayed with different interactive graphical models, browsable according to categories such as:

  • Product brand;
  • Geographical area of destination.

Users can drill-down , select a chart or individual elements of the same , analyze data on different levels of detail , or select the specific measure they are interested in, such as:

  • Number of shipments;
  • Number of packages;
  • Value of the goods.

HOW IT WORKS

THE TECHNOLOGY

The application is developed in Java with Apache as Application Server, the JqPlot Charts library is used for creating the graphs and MS-SQL Server as a local database.

The access to the ERP data is made through Query and Store Procedure via JDBC.

The server side application for data management is Stealth 400.
